At the annual congress of AKJ Automotive, the international network of the automotive industry, the On Board Courier platform airmates was awarded with the “elogistics tool award” on May 08, 2019 in Saarbrucken/Germany. The distinction is granted to particularly innovative projects that skillfully combine logistics processes and information processing for the global automotive industry.
Smooth production is crucial for car manufacturers and suppliers. However, a lack of material or urgently needed spare parts can lead to a production line standstill combined with high downtime costs. Accompanied transport by an onboard courier is the fastest and most reliable transport solution in this case. As a manual offer preparation can often take up to 60 minutes, time:matters airmates convinced the jury above all by the enormous time savings and simple handling: In less than a minute, the digital platform creates a complete quote which can be booked directly.
The expert jury, consisting of executives from the automotive industry and the Saarland University of Applied Sciences, judged airmates according to the following criteria:
– Innovativeness of the solution
– Originality in relation to the fields of application in logistics
– Benefits and added value from the point of view of the main users
– Acceleration effects in the value chain or order processing
– Development opportunities and sustainability
The award recognizes pioneering developments that are already being used in practice today and represent direct added value for the industry.
“We are delighted to receive this award. This is further confirmation that with airmates we offer a unique solution”, says Alexander Kohnen, CEO of time:matters GmbH. “In addition to the positive feedback from our customers, the award shows us that the consistent implementation of our digitization strategy meets the needs and requirements of the industry”.
The “elogistics tool award” is a further distinction for the On Board Courier platform, which has already received the “Automotive Logistics Award” in the category Inbound Global Supply Chain.
