Neu-Isenburg, 24 January 2017: time:matters impressed Volkswagen’s logistics experts with its emergency logistics concept, one of 170 solutions submitted, earning itself the “Top Innovator” title.

The Volkswagen Group ran a large-scale scouting event with the support of the Institute for Production Management (IPM) aimed at finding innovative logistics solutions for its 12 brands and 119 plants worldwide. A total of 170 innovative solutions were submitted in the 16 action fields defined. The best 18 concepts were presented to some 230 Volkswagen logistics experts in Wolfsburg on Innovation Day Logistics 2016.

In the Transport Processes category, time:matters presented a logistics concept which could serve as an alternative to VW’s current conventional logistics solutions. The jury was impressed with the “planned emergency” concept, as using the existing global network and established processes would bring ecological benefits while also reducing costs and shortening transportation times. It therefore named time:matters a Top Innovator under the Volkswagen Scouting Logistics Innovations banner.

“We are delighted to have been named a Top Innovator; this confirms to us that we are creating true added value for customers with our mix of technology and service”, said Franz-Joseph Miller, Managing Director of time:matters GmbH. “It shows that we have understood the needs of the automotive sector and can directly benefit its supply chain with our combination of speed, transparency and cost awareness.”
