Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main / Vienna, August 17, 2010 – time:matters, the expert for courier, sameday and emergency logistics which is part of the Lufthansa Group, will cooperate with the Austrian carrier Austrian Airlines, effective August 15, 2010.
The logistics specialist’s customers also benefit from the cooperation, due to quicker and more frequent connections within Europe and to destinations outside of Europe. Therefore, time-critical shipments can now, effective immediately, also be transported on Austrian Airlines flights.
Greatest possible degree of flexibility through continuous network expansion
Austrian Airlines is Austria’s largest carrier and a member of the “Star Alliance.” Through the collaboration, time:matters increases its route frequency by approximately 1,300 connections per week. Following cooperations with others such as Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Adria Airlines, Swiss World Cargo, Condor etc., the service provider is constantly expanding its network and thereby strengthening the international orientation of its services.
More direct flights from Vienna
The network expansion increases the number of direct flights from Vienna, the hub of Austria Airlines, to more than 50. This eliminates transit flights via Frankfurt or Munich that were previously necessary and in part considerably reduces transport times. A direct flight from Vienna to Warsaw saves the customer for example 2 hours, 50 minutes; a direct flight from Vienna to Barcelona reduces the transport time by 2 hours, 25 minutes, as compared to the customary route via hubs in Frankfurt or Munich.
