As part of the time:matters exhibition at transport logistic 2017, an industry-wide round table took place on May 11 in Munich.
The topic at hand was “The role of special speed logistics (emergency logistics) in the supply chain”.
Numerous customers, among others from the sectors of aviation, semicon, machinery and components responded to our invitation.
The panel debate consisted of Mr Heiko Ansorge from Siemens Healthineers, Mr Andreas Herbort from Arvato SCM and Mr Robert Cameron from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
There was a lively exchange of opinions regarding the following topics:
- Visibility in the Supply Chain (the digitalization status quo and future requirements)
- Intelligent supply options (among others, work bench delivery, Bluetooth locker boxes)
- Long Distance Supply Chain (changing storage structures and production planning); Special Speed Logistics as an integral part of the supply chain.
Other topics that were tackled included new technologies, intelligent processes, cloud-based solutions and data quality. The majority of attendees expressed a desire to continue this round table series.
