What does D2D mean?

Definition: What is D2D?

Door-to-Door (D2D) describes a shipping method where freight is picked up at the door of the sender and delivered to the recipient’s door. The shipment is collected from the sender and taken directly to the recipient.

We are specialists in emergency and spare part logistics. When you decide in favor of our D2D freight services, your shipment will usually be so urgent that there will no time to entrust a regular shipping company with your freight. This is why, if you wish, we will pick up your shipment directly from your premises and deliver it by air freight or accompanied by an On Board Courier directly to its destination in the fastest possible way. To receive a bookable offer, just enter the pick-up and delivery location in the booking request and you will receive a directly bookable offer in less than a minute.

Freight services: Keep an eye on details

For the recipient, “Door-to-Door” may sound great at first, as the shipment is brought to where they want it. However, you should be precise in phrasing the modalities of shipment. Unlike DDP or DAP, D2D is not part of the Incoterms, the international trade terms of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce). For international shipments, the door-to-door shipping method without add-on leaves open, for example, who will take care of customs clearance at the destination. With our door-to-door transports, you are on the safe side. If required, we will gladly take care of the entire transport process, including pick-up, delivery and customs clearance.
