Avoiding a production standstill with time:matters - via on-board courier, charter plane and helicopter

A threatening situation for any company: the materials supply doesn’t arrive on time, assembly lines come to a standstill and the factory’s entire production process grinds to a halt. There is a risk of production losses as well as severe penalties. Even a brief assembly line standstill can subsequently lead to substantial additional costs.

A large technology company headquartered in Germany was confronted with precisely this situation, as its supplier was unable to deliver urgently needed microelectronic components from Asia as arranged and an assembly line standstill was imminent. Given the threat of penalties and production losses, the fastest possible solution must be found. An on-board courier from time:matters is already waiting there for the shipment, which he receives at 10:25. The shipment is transported as quickly as possible by car from the airport in Amsterdam to Rotterdam. Upon arrival in Rotterdam at 11:05, a specially chartered plane is already waiting to fly the valuable cargo to Nuremberg, under personal supervision of the on-board courier. Of course a charter solution directly from Amsterdam was also a possibility; however, the special speed logistics experts at time:matters selected this transport option, since the time frame for a charter flight is more flexible and the handling times are shorter in Rotterdam. This enables the customer to save valuable time, despite the drive from Amsterdam to Rotterdam.

The on-board courier does everything he can to ensure a smooth process. Merely 15 minutes after arrival in Rotterdam, he is already sitting in the chartered plane and departing for Nuremberg, where the aircraft lands punctually at 12:35. Due to the seamlessly coordinated transport plan from time:matters, a helicopter is already waiting to bring the on-board courier to his final destination as quickly as possible. Only nine minutes after arrival in Nuremberg, the courier and shipment are already on board the helicopter and heading to the company’s premises located in Southern Germany. The shipment is delivered to the satisfied recipient at 13:09, less than 24 hours after the order was placed.

By the way: time:matters employees proactively communicated the current status of the shipment to the customer throughout the entire transport process. Therefore, the customer is informed each step of the way, which ultimately takes the worry out of waiting.
